Not much

Sep. 6th, 2005 08:31 pm
The most interesting part of my day today was hearing about how my youngest son forgot to stop off at the middle school for his trombone lesson and instead managed to get all the way back to our house before Jeff called him on the cell phone to find out if he'd made it to the lesson. Silly child. He still managed to get back there only five minutes late. Hopefully the extra walk will have been enough to keep him from forgetting next week.

Tomorrow I have to get up at 5:15 to be ready in time to take the same child to school by six, so he can catch a bus up to Lake Erie for a nifty science program. Some of the kids were selected last spring (based on science ability and interest) to participate. They had a two day summer program here at a local nature preserve and will spend one night this week on an island in Lake Erie. They'll be studying the ecosystem there and learning about the creatures that live in the lake. I believe they dissect a fish (don't look, Carrie!!). My older son did this same program when he was in sixth grade, but he has little memory of it. His brain is too stuffed full of video game cheat codes.

I didn't get home until 6:30 because I had to wait in line to fill up my gas tank. At least I got my grocery store discount. I only paid a paltry $2.87 (.9) per gallon. Excellent. Workout was grueling. Number one son threw spaghetti dinner together as Jeff was driving home from work and I was finishing up my miles on the treadmill. Teens are very useful that way.

I still have to shower and get ready for bed. I did manage to finish all the machine sewing on my binding. *bg* Now it's just hand stitching left. Might do a little tonight. Might not. I have to get up really early, afterall.
