speedy post
Aug. 30th, 2005 08:36 pmthis one has to be short and sweet because i spent most of the evening hearing all about the boys' first day of school and filling out all the damned forms they brought home. (well, jeff filled out some of them, too. we split it up.)
it is WET in Ohio. not as wet as it is on the gulf coast, but still pretty freaking wet. i feel like singing the blustery day song from winnie the pooh. The rain rain rain came down down down, and piglet started pailing...
anyway, today was another decent day. nothing at all stressful beyond the drive. i was a couple of minutes late due to first day of school traffic (and the rain), but nothing bad. i apparently am finishing the tasks they set me much faster than they expect me to do. poor morgana (who will from this time forward be re-christened "Kathy" - for the chatty version) just about had her jaw hit the floor when i walked into her office at 11:30 to tell her i'd finished all the stuff she'd assigned that she had planned on taking my whole day.
we spent much of the rest of the day trading wedding and pregnancy stories. mostly I listened and did my best to tell a few anecdotes of my own. but i rarely got to finish my anecdotes. ah well. i still like her. she's very entertaining.
I'm learning that certain of our clients (The home buyers) are total neurotic control freaks who must call 497 times per day to check on things. ok, i exaggerate. Actually, Mrs. Douch (i shit you not, her name sounds like that, but with one more minor syllable) has only called about six times in the two days i've been working there. one time, Fred asked Kathy for mrs. summer's eve's phone number so she could call her about something and Kathy said "six, six, six..." and silly Fred actually started to write it down before he realized the joke. he was unfortunately not nearly as amused as Kathy and I were.
i also spent a lot of time reading the home owner's manual and studying the model homes in preparation for my test at the company school next month. fun fun! it's a 48 page manual full of all sorts of fabulous and spell binding reading.
drive home today was no better - actually worse. i had to stop and buy gas. blech.
now i must run to my quilt!!!! my sister _is_ in fact arriving on friday night and I want to have it mostly done by then. all but the binding if possible. *scurries off to stab her fingers some more*
