and so it goes
Sep. 1st, 2005 08:59 pmI really should have learned by now how silly it is to make plans. Especially when the plans involve any member of my original family. GAH.
( my day - uncensored )
She called me at work at around ten AM to inform me very sheepishly that she's cancelling her trip up. She has what I have to accept as a valid reason - the [there are not enough obscenities and vulgarities in the English language to express my rage] gas crisis. It seems that down in NC, the gas stations are shutting down right and left due to shortages and the prices are climbing higher by the hour. She had concerns that she'd get up here and not be able to get gas to get back home on Monday. She could be right. Who knows. So she's not coming and I was understanding and commiserating and all that good stuff. And to be quite frank, I'm more than a little relieved that I don't have that preparation to deal with tonight. The quilt can wait til the weekend, too. I'm going to go curl up with my book and read myself to sleep.
The End
